should i be worried? is it stuck or is it normal for the update to be at 50% for so long?

Usually asks you to tick an acceptance box before continuing .
If you have then i would reboot and try again .

agree with JJ, reboot and retry. updates do sometimes 'hang'.0

i ticked a box for the update and it started. it then asked me if i wanted everything within essentials or just to update what i have. i chose to update what i have. a windows essentials box popped up and after the green installation bar on that filled it asked me to click close to start essentials. i did that. at this point the green bar in windows update was at 50% and it is still at 50%.0 -
ok, i restarted the pc. according to the windows update list the update failed. i did a new check for updates expecting to see it there but it came up with no new updates available.
everything seems to be working fine its just odd that an update failed and it is not still there available to download. normally they would be still there available for you to try again. :huh:0 -
It may be possible that the update process failed when the only things left for it to do was to move the progress bar up to 100% and tell you it had completed.0
