sky plus remote

hi everyone i am having trouble with my sky plus remote about two weeks ago it started acting up working intermittently so i moved all shiny objects by the sky box checked nothing was blocking the red light cleaned the front of the box still having problems so i put new batteries in still no joy so i boughy a new remote but it is still not working right the remote works perfect from 3 feet wich is no good to me anyone got any ideas cheers:beer:
