Hi there

Sorry if this would be better suited to an alternative board, but this was where I thought it may fit...

Our flat has electric only (no gas) and therefore we're having to get used to electric heating (Creda Sensair storage heaters in main room, Quartz Electronic in smaller rooms) and don't really have a clue!

Asked the LL about them and she doesn't apparently understand them or their controls? So can't help us? (They're great generally, mind! They just know nothing about the heaters!)

Have (obviously) googled around and still can't find how to set them. I have, however, discovered how they are wired. But i didn't actually want or need to know that. Hmm.

We moved here in May and so far have gritted our teeth and got by sans heating... but thinking that can't continue for that much longer without us turning into ice cubes...

It would be a huge help if anyone who is au fait with the operation of these little blighters - especially in conjuntion with dual tariffs - could assist us in terms of a working knowledge of their use!

Thanks in advance folks xx :T
On the up :D

For instructions on how to use storage heaters, see this guide:

    http://www.storageheaters.com/storage-heater-control.htm

The only significant difference with the storage heaters you have, is that they are fan boosted. On boost setting the fan is high speed for rapid room heating. It's also possible to turn the fan off without affecting the thermostat setting.

(Edit: Actually I think those heaters also have automatic heat input - so you may not need to worry about that either)

The other heaters are simple panel heaters (not overnight storage). The quartz electronic refers to the type of timer. Set the timer for the periods you want the heater to come on and off. There's also a thermostat to set the desired room temperature.
Remember, this heater will use normal (expensive) rate electricity any time it is used outside of the low rate period.
