Hi I have a Salus Programmable Thermostat model RT500RF, I am somewhat confused with it, I have read the manual and it has 5 programmable slots per day, however all you can set is the time in which you want it to come on and a setpoint tempreture, there is no funtion as to when you want it to turn off! so how does it work? if I say for it to switch on at 8:00am and temp 21 degree's does it reach 21 degrees and turn off regardless?

Please help

Keith

This timer/stat doesn't have time periods for 'on' and 'off' as is the norm. You set the temperature you require against a time.

    For example:

Set 06.00 at 20 degrees it will come ON if the temperature of the space is less than 20
Set 07.30 at 10 degrees it will go OFF
Set 16.00 at 20 degrees it will come ON
Set 22.00 at 10 degrees it will go OFF

During the on/off times the boiler will be controlled by the space temperature depending on the temp setting at the specified time.

As I understand it, the temperature you set at the start point stays set until the next temperature start point is reached, at which point that temperature is maintained until the next start point etc.
There are up to 5 different start point settings per 24 hours.

If you effectively want it off for certain periods of the day, make one start point 5 degrees (an anti frost setting). It'll stay off, well as long as the room temperature doesn't fall below 5 degrees, until the next start point is reached.

Edit: Whoops - that always happens. :o
