iexpore.exe ???????????

Ok, this thing crops up every time I try to shut down the system. Takes 2 or 3 attempts to cancel/end now to get shut.

What is it?, why do I have it?, and how the ffff do I get rid of it?. System appears fine in all other respects
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

It's Internet Explorer, unless you've installed some malware that uses the same filename.

As stated in the post just below this one now it is a trojan virus. Follow steps in other thread to wipe it.

Thanks chaps, will try. Have found other post, now not the one below this one, :rotfl:, think I have even less idea than shady pants.

Asuming I sort this is dumping internet explorer as simple as downloading the option given, firefox or whatever it was and junking exp by removing the hardware??

Shady pants?! Anyway, hopefully you can get rid of any malware by scanning with anti-malware/anti-virus products (Malwarebytes, Spybot, etc.) and then download and install Firefox. You shouldn't need to touch any hardware (except the keyboard and mouse!)
