You can include all sorts of stuff like hair-dos, dental/optical care, pet insurance & food, Xmas/birthday presents, magazines, smoking, Sky TV. HOWEVER, the figures the use are those produced by the banks. Basically they expect you to live of Fresh air.

Hi, they will go through everything with you over the telephone. Then they advise on a decent but realistic amount to throw at your creditors.
Honestly don'y worry about it they are fab and will explain it all - you can be on for a good hour!
I felt so much better after i'd spoken to them - you will too.

Well done thats the hardest part over with. Everything will be included in the budget, the usual council tax, water, electric, gas, and then the extras that you usually don't think of like christmas, birthdays, haircuts, we were even given an allowance of £30 for an evening out. So don't worry about living on bread and water for the next X years. (like I i did)
  • Thanks, im just really worried i cant have a life for x years!!!
  • I have found CCCS to be very helpful, well done to you.

They included emergencies (dental/car/hair!!) and made sure i was putting money aside for things like xmas and bdays.

Start collecting paperwork of all creditors and just so you know they like to offer each creditor at least £5 a month.

As you can see from my signature I don't have a huge debt (but it is for me) and I pay £100 per month. They will suggest ways to cut down your spending, and how much you should be spending on stuff.

you really need to have two budgets

the real budget that you will live on
and the official budget that CCCS will help you with that goes to your creditors.
do make sure they come to similar totals otherwise you will strugggle to live.

My CCCS DMP started on 1st August, and I can honestly say, I have more of a life now that I did before.

Good luck. As LittleL said, you will feel much better once you have had your appointment
