Does such a thing exist?
I can't be the only one who finds it difficult to see the screens on most of the latest digital compacts, especially in sunny weather and as my old camera has started to play up I would like to replace it with one with an old-fashioned viewfinder if possible. Any comments gratefully received, thanks in advance.

took a bit of searching but this does: http://www.trustedreviews.com/digital-cameras/review/2009/11/10/Canon-Digital-IXUS-100-IS/p1
you can also look at some test shots to check out the quality at the link0 -
Try DPReview's search page here. Set Format to Compact and Viewfinder to Optical. You should get about 10 options. They may not all be currently available models but that's about it, unless you want to go upmarket to a DSLR.0

Some of the "bridge" cameras have "through lens electronic" viewfinders, Fuji for instanceWhen an eel bites your bum, that's a Moray0

Thanks for the replies, unfortunately none of these have a very big optical zoom, I think the biggest is 4x. Sorry I didn't mention this earlier! It looks as though I may have to opt for a larger camera if I want to resolve this but thanks anyway.0
