Seen quite a few posts here about Netgear...in fact I got advice from the forum about buying this one...well...went on Ebay...bought a refurbished one...but no resource CD ...now I know I could probably set it up myself with a network cable and get it up and running....but my daughter lives in Newcastle...I'm in Norn Iron....so clutching at straws I know but.....could anyone do me an image of the Netgear Resource CD and help my daughter out....I reckon if she at least had the CD...she could just drop it in....and let it do the setting up for her....I know its going to be a nightmare....there will be about 6 of them using it wirelessly....and although they're all at UNI together...common sense is sometimes lacking (apologies to other students on the board...but I'm sure you know what I mean...
) if you can help...come back on the thread or even PM me...and a big thanks to anyone who offers help....Torby

If you ask the to plug it in, and turn on remote admin, you can connect from home and do it for themEver get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -

Never actually worked with remote admin....but sounds intriguing....might just hold out for the resource cd though....never done the other before....lol....thanks...is it albert ross....or do you have a thing about sea birds?I'm now a retired teacher... hooray ...:j

Remote management works across the internet, as if you are sitting in front of the router, you just get them to plug it in, go to the local web interface (https://www.routerlogin.com), remote management, note down your ip address, and tick the box to turn it on, click apply.
Then you go to the same web address in IE, eg. http://xx.xx.xx.xx:8080 and you can setup the wireless from home for them.
If you wish, you can also ask them to send you a remote assitance invitation, and remote control their PC's.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
think a copy of the resource cd will be the easiest option still.....getting her to work with me on this is dubious.....lolI'm now a retired teacher... hooray ...:j
