PCN from Ealing borough "Parked in loading bay whilst restricted", Genuine Mistake

I was in Ealing a couple of weeks back and lost my way a bit so I pulled up into a loading bay at 17.22. After looking at maps on my mobile, I left at 17.26 within 4 minutes. I was served with a PCN saying "25J Parked in a loading place during restricted hours without loading". I have a couple of days until the discount period of £50.
Do I pay the fine??? This was a genuine mistake and I truly believed that I was ok to be in that place for about 4 minutes whislt my car was still running and all passengers were in the car.
Isn't this a rip off?? I was so angry to even read that letter from the council that even a genuine person like me can get a PCN for such a minor, but genuine mistake.
All help is appreciated..

Unfortunately though it was a genuine mistake, you should always check as a driver that you can park/stop legally, it is stated in the Highway Code.0

Get pics of the bay, signs and lines (include ends) and any kerb clips. Also copy both sides of the pcn and remove personal details and leave dates. Look at the stickies and post the link to the pics on here. Others will look at them and try to help avoiding payment. You could also consider as above and post onto pepipoo.com to get a wider audience.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Just found this interesting article: http://www.ealinggazette.co.uk/ealing-news/local-ealing-news/2010/10/08/drivers-fined-for-loading-in-loading-bay-64767-27431635/0

As PTP says above, post a new thread about this on pepipoo and show them all pages of your PCN as per their FAQs and sticky threads here:

Pepipoo get most people off most Council tickets, don't appeal without help. And don't give up when the Council automatically reject your first appeal; it's a standard bluff at that early stage.
Pepipoo posters will tell you what you need to do.:)PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I gave up and paid the fine. Starting a new business hence can't be involved in such a tiny dispute... but it was certainly a rip off for me..0

Shame you gave in to them but perfectly understandable. Its stressful enough without this sirt of mess.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
