Decent EA At Long Last!

As a buyer, I don't get on well with EAs in general, I find them abrasive, full of BS and willfully ignorant of my requirements. I understand that they work for the vendor, but they are not doing a very good job for the vendor if they negatively alienate good buyers. That the vendor pays their commission is merely a technicality, the vendor doesn't truly pay the commission, the buyer does, it is all factored into the price. No buyer no commission.

Today, at last, I met a sensible EA. One that recognised that, here in the City of Lincoln, the market is rapidly falling and that recognised that I am a serious and strong buyer as I have nothing to sell and a 50% deposit (I think she had a mini O when she saw evidence of it). She listened to absolutely everything I had to say and paid particular attention to what our requirements are. From her response I could tell that she really was listening and comprehending and that it wasn't just washing over her. I have every confidence that this EA can find me a house and a vendor a sale.

It seems to be that some EAs are finally getting to grips with the fact that the boom is gone and the boot is now on the other foot. This one recognised that I am the one with the money she wants and not the vendors. Isn't it about time that EAs started listening instead of telling? After all, the buyers are the true customers.
