I have been trying to download Adobe 9.4 but nothing happens after I click on the download button.
I get to the next screen which says
Depending on your security settings, you may encounter these steps:

And then NOTHING !!
I've got an older version installed. Do I need to uninstall that before I can download 9.4 ??

  • Try downloading via an alternative browser e.g. chrome or firefox first.

If you are talking about adobe reader then you could also consider using another prog to view pdf files such as foxit reader, its certainly more lightweight and doesn't insist on being updated every five minutes like adobe does! :)

That should not matter, foxit should read it well.

I got rid of Adobe reader recently as to many problems trying to update it, using foxit now which is a lot lot lighter on resources.

Yep thats right. All you would need to do is right click the file, choose 'open with' and select foxit instead of adobe reader, that would do the trick! :)

    Hello,

You can always grab the latest Adobe Reader from their FTP site. Version 9.4 is here:

    ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/9.x/9.4.0/en_US/AdbeRdr940_en_US.exe

For future versions, just use the first part:

    ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/

and then click through the highest version numbered directories, and choose your preferred language.

  • Another vote here for Foxit - I stopped using Adobe's acrobat a few months ago and I've never looked back. I find it much easier to use too, although this maybe because I never took the time to investigate the Reader that thoroughly.
