    He is not going to be entitled to £70 per week LHA. Refer to Oldernotwiser's post to clarify.

    I entered all his details on the site, plus the fact that he shares the tenancy, and that's the figure it came up with.

    The shared room rate will apply and not sure if entitled to will be up to scratch on that but regardless, hb is very time constrained and will normally start from the Monday following the date he claims so he should contact the council today
    I currently manage a Housing Benefit service and have been working in Housing / council tax benefit (as was) since 2001.

    you need to enter the LHA rate for shared accomodation
