Having received an email in April
Thank you for requesting your FREE smartpower electricity monitor.
We have had an overwhelming number of requests and we are currently processing your order. We apologise if this leads to a delay in you receiving your monitor.
Rest assured your monitor will be with you shortly.
Another one in June
I am sorry we are taking so long in regards to you receiving your home energy monitor.
I have just spoken to our back office and due to the significant increase in popularity
the demand for the item has gone up,unfortunately there is now a twelve week backlog.
And another in October
We are sorry but at present we are unable to issue home energy monitors. The offer at the time was subject to availability and as such we have no further monitors to issue.
I can't help wondering if the link in this weeks MSE email is valid.
Free £30 energy monitor for Npower customers
There are around 170,000 available until stocks last.
As I'm an npower customer - signed up to paperless billing I'm now a bit sceptical about any of their offers.
The resident npower rep on MSE did pick up on my previous posts and informed me that I will be receiving a monitor, but somewhere between MSE & npower there seem to be 170,000 monitors gone astray!

Interesting.
I see in their email you received on 11 October, there were no monitors left in stock and you wouldn't be getting one.

Two days later on 13 October, the nPower rep promised to put one in the post for you
(presumably they had a new delivery of 170,000 units in those 2 days)

That was a week ago, and presumably you've still not got one.
You just can't rely on Royal Mail these days can you? (Despite the fact nPower usually use TNT for their mail)
Let us know if/when it ever arrives."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
Hi voucherman can you PM me your postcode and name and see if Npower can look into it for you. It's assured us there are 170,000 available, it's giving them away as part of its CERT obligations and we've not heard of any other poblems yet.
Thanks Archna0
