I have read a few posts today alone that at the bottom say if this offends anyone or the BG's find this inapropriate etc please delete or move etc
I then read the posts, didn't find them at all politically incorrect, at all insulting to any group, or riske
I just think its sad people feel they have to add that in fear of upsetting people for virtually any post of any topic made
This isn't a dig at those people, maybe you're just very polite, and everyone else thinks its normal, but i myself think its sad you feel you have to apologise in advance
Am i alone?

It can also work the other way, when someone uses it to excuse a blatently offensive opinion.
Either way, I'd say no apology should be made in advance, except for the joke I posted yesterday!!:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

My opinions are my own, and if someone else doesn't like them, tough. I would never apologise for expressing my views, but neither would I be deliberately offensive either0

I hadn't noticed that on here. But I've seen comments at the bottom of posts on the other boards saying 'sorry if on the wrong board. BGs feel free to move to wherever this should be.' I think that's lovely when people say that as, as a BG, I hate having to tell people I've moved their thread. You never know what response you'll get and it's not always favourable.:o
And given that we move them to try and get them more answers/keep particular topics together etc it is really nice when people reply to say thanks for moving their thread too. :jMay all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
Thank you for moving my thread BGGingham_Ribbon wrote:And given that we move them to try and get them more answers/keep particular topics together etc it is really nice when people reply to say thanks for moving their thread too. :j

Quite simply if someone feels their post will be offensive and unnecessary then best not to post it. If they don't feel so then an apology in advance is unnecessary.

Oh i agree martin (wouldn't dare not agree lol) but the point being i assume their so scared someone will insult them for bad taste in posts (when its in theory harmless) that they add it
