Flooring Insurance Claim

I laid laminate flooring in my livingroom about a year ago. Even though I left the recommended spacing around the edges, it's still warping and lifting up at certain points.
I was considering claiming of the insurance but was wondering whether this would come under buildings or contents?
I have accidental cover on my contents but not buildings. Does this come under accidental damage?

I wouldn't have thought you have a chance of a claim. Either the flooring is an inferior quality, faulty or it wasn't laid entirely correct. Neither of these things is covered by insurance.
If you bought the flooring from a reputable store & you feel it's faulty then best go back to them & complain. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
Sorry I agree with Cattie...it's going to come under the category of wear & tear and/or poor quality fittings so no chance I'm afraid.Debt 2007 £17k
Current Debt approx £7.5k
Target - to pay off all debts by 2020 :A0 -
It would be almost impossible to prove you had left enough of a gap around the edge. If it's any consolation, trimming the laminate where it butts up against the wall could mean it'll lie down flat again, saving you replacing the lot.0

My mother-in-law must've been fortunate then because the same thing happened to her 2/3 years ago and she had no trouble getting her floor replaced on her insurance.
Which is why I thought you could get it replaced on your insurance.0
