Hi!
About a year ago I moved into this new house and discovered I was inheritting a couple of pre-payment meters, both supplied through e-on.
One of the first things I did after getting there was phone them to try and cancel-out any debt from the previous tennant, as things are real tight, and I didn't need that burden which a few people on this board have experienced.
They sent out a new Gas card and gave me a code to revert the electricty tarriff to 'standard' rates when I made the next payment (through paypoint)
The previous tennant was obviously somehow in debt to them given the amount of e-on branded envelopes pilling up on the doormat whwn I first got in.
<anyway> Now that i've registed both accounts online Its showing that I am £55 in arreas to them on the gas account and £2 in 'debt' to them on the elctricity. I've never been out of credit on either of the meters (save for accessing the emergency credit twice <which was quickly repaid>).
..Anybody know how this can be so? any advice appreciated!! :money:

You need to go through the setting on both meters to confirm there is no debt recover rate set. Also I dont know how online account work with ppm meters as most suppliers dont issue bills. Does the 'bill' show what you have used (meter readings) and payments (what you have spent in shops)?IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

Hi huggychair,
spiro has already given some pretty good advice :T
Make sure to write down all of the settings from the meters, you can then contact E.ON and we can go through these with you.
The online account may not have been billed up to date, or not all of your payments may be showing as yet, this may be the reason that you are seeing the debt.
Let me know if you need any more info.
