Should I be worried about this?

Hi all,
I've just checked my credit report with Experian for the second time and I've noticed they've now added addresses to my file and that strangest thing is I've never lived at any of them. I noticed something peculiar in my file yesterday that was wrong, apparently I made two late payments to an account that's now settled and that isn't true at all as I've never missed a payment in my life. When I called the gentleman assured me he'd raise a dispute and hopefully get this removed from my file which was fine by me as I know it's a mistake and shouldn't have bene there in the first place. I got home earlier this evening and decided to check my credit report once more and I was literally gobsmacked because they've added a whole list of addresses to my credit report and I've never lived at any of them in my life, why whould they do this? I've only ever lived here and with my parents growing up, nowhere else and this is a mistake. I've noticed there's now 11 "linked addresses" and they're showing for things ranging from Santander Store Cards to Bank of Scotland Current Accounts and the worrying thing for me is that I've never lived at those addresses and I don't know why this information is showing up. I did momentarily open a Burtons Store Card way back in 2005 but It was wrongfully sold at the time and subsequently closed and I heard nothing further about it.
I tried to call Experian earlier but unfortunately they're closed and I'm so worked up about this I felt I needed to ask this question and hopefully get an answer because I can't understand why they've added all this information to my file so suddenly and I want it removed because it shouldn't be there. The gentleman yesterday asked about other addresses and I told him I'd never lived anywhere else and he then said he'd update my file and that I was to check it today which I have done and that's when I've found out about these other addresses and I'm not happy happy about it at all. I've never lived at or ever had any dealings with these addresses. I don't know if this is an honest mistake or not but I'm just so angry to see all this information that just shouldn't be there and my electoral roll file clearly shows the date I was registered up to with my parents and then the date ever since that I've lived here so where do all these other addresses come into it? I know this might be a little confusing and I'm sorry for that but thank you for your help

Have you also checked under the 'alias' section for erroneous entries?Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

I had this once. I applied for a credit card online, next minute some address in another town appears. A few calls later all is okay.0

They've linked you with someone they shouldn't have. Don't worry about it, it'll get resolved now you've brought it up. You will need to check all 3 CRA's though and probably raise disputes with them all.Starting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j

Hi all,
Just a quick message of thanks before bed. I hope this is sorted out when I call tommorow as it's a genuine mistake and I've honestly never had any dealings or lived at the adresses that are now showing up on my file. I've checked with both Equifax and Experian and Equifax shows the correct information in that I've only ever lived here at my present home and with my parents when I was growing up. Experian seems to have made the mistake, not the first time I've had trouble with them as they're the ones showing two missed payments for an accounts that's long since been settled and I have never ever missed a payment in my life so that's what's annoying me. I think the best thing I can do is make that call tommorow morning and hopefully get this resolved, really annoyed at the man I spoke with for adding needless information to my file but it's just one of those things I guess, thanks again and goodnight0 -

Hi,
Nothing is showing under alias, have never used an alias and wouldn't see the point. It's just in the "linked adresses" section that I now have a whole list of adresses that I just can't make sense of because I've never lived there and never had any dealings with them. If I was to call them and explain this do you think they could remove them from my file? I honestly don't see why Experian has added them so suddenly as they've never been on my file before and just out of they blue they've all appeared.0 -
I think the Alias was in case someone has your name as the alias and it confused the system, not you using one.
So you never use an alias MR EltonJohnFan ???? hmmmmmm:DSantander are awful - mission in life is to warn people since 17-Sep-10, 18-Sep-10 realised one of thousands.0 -
When did you last look at your file before this time?0

It's not that you may have used an alias, if someone has applied for credit using your address and part of your name will show up in the aliases section. I had 3 people who had used my address as their previous address and surname for fraud listed in that section and the addresses they used showed up in my linked address section.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

Do these bogus linked addresses have any impact on credit ratings before or after requesting their removal (assuming an individual can have them delinked from their credit record)?0 -
Quick question folowing on from above.
if someone has a previous address. When you apply do they search at the previous address as well.
I have been living at my present address for three years, but am now looking to move. Well I have seen a new flat that I like. I was wondering how best to handle this.0
