Satellite Dish - Can i run more than one Free sat box?

Hey all, there is a satellite dish already up and we have today succesfully connected a freesat box. Is there a way to connect a couple more boxes to the same dish and what do i need?
Thank you

  • You can run extra cables from the LNB (the sticky out arm on the dish) to other boxes.

Whether you might need to change the LNB for one with more outputs depends on what type of boxes you wish to connect, i.e. if you want a box to record with and so forth.

You need one LNB connection per box (or two for a receiver with a built in recorder).

You can't connect two boxes to one connector, because the LNB is powered by the satellite receiver.

    Yes and no.

If you look at the bottom of your LNB, of it has got only one output, then no.
If you have 4, then yes.
You can run 4 simple set-top boxes or two recording ones(these need a pair of cable).
    Hope this helped.

It's the bit on the front of the dish that the wires connect to, in simple terms!

Nobody calls them a Low Noise Block in real life. Just LNB.
