iphone 4 and email help please

When I open and look at emails on my iphone they then do not load onto outlook on my PC.
Can someone please tell me how I can change this as I need them to come into outlook too?
Thanks in advance.

what email service is it and how is it set up (via pop or imap or exchange?)

it is always better to use imap or exchange over pop.
both gmail and hotmail can be set up via exchange or imap

set up gmail using this method this will give full push email (instant email) but you can set it to only check for email every so often if you want
but if you have 4.0 on the iphone the standard 'tap gmail to set up' should have worked fine.

also is your gmail set up in outlook using imap? as that may well be the problem follow these instructions http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=77689
also if your gmail wasnt set up for imap and that solves it then you wouldnt need to change the iphone setup (unless you wanted push email or contacts and calendar sync)
