Hi

We are in the middle of choosing an estate agent and I wanted to ask a few questions to help us decide which one.

Is Rightmove the main place you look for properties?

Do you see boards whilst you are driving and ring them up to view?

Are you on estate agents lists and do they send you new properties that come on the market?

Its just for us to decide if we go with an estate agent that uses rightmove or not or others that do not have many properties for sale on their books so I think wont have many clients to send for viewings.

Thanks in advance x

Rightmove is the biggest property portal and I would not consider using an agent that didn't use it as it's where I look for all my properties.

If I saw an agents board, I would look the property up on the rightmove app on my iPhone or wait until I got home and would look it up on rightmove for the details before considering viewing.
Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
  • I'm looking at the moment and do almost all of my searching on Rightmove.
  • I presume you mean you're buying and selling if you're looking at choosing an estate agent.
To answer from our recent experience:

    - Yes 100% of the properties we went to view were from Right Move.
    - I saw the odd board or 2 which I then went and looked up on Right Move so would probably have found them anyway
    - I was on plenty of estate agents lists but they rarely sent me properties which matched my description, usually were nothing like it.

Thanks so much. Helps a lot as they all give you their sales pitch as to why you should choose them but it really comes down to the basics.

Should have said. We are just selling not buying x

    I only look at rightmove.

Don't really notice for sale boards

    I am on mailing lists.

Found my house on rightmove, didn't bother at all with EA's mailing lists as I've always found they send through masses of details on totally unsuitable properties no matter what you ask for. I did have one lot of viewers who had driven past my place a spotted the board, much as they loved the house, they hadn't even got theirs on the market at the time, another wasted morning!

Must be on Rightmove or I'll probably miss it/never see it.

    Yes - rightmove and globrix

Do you see boards whilst you are driving and ring them up to view?

I've done this twice; both times when I was viewing a property on the road and spotted another.

Are you on estate agents lists and do they send you new properties that come on the market?

Yes -although I am surprised at the number who send me properties that dont meet my wants.

    Hope this helps!

Plus if you use Rightmove you can get the helpful add on Property Bee. It adds on the property changes such as price since it has been added on the site, near essential now for buying or selling.
