Understanding the '0% for purchases' time period

Hi all, I'm just a little unsure exactly what this term means and wondered if someone could explain. Say for example I get a card with 3 months 0% interest on new purchases. In month 1 I spend £200, month 2 I spend £300 and then don't use the card anymore after that 3 month period. If I then pay off the minimum payment…

Yes, but you must pay the minimum each month during that 12 months.
