Hello all,

I know there are a few legal specialists on this forum and just wondered if any of you would be able to provide any advice with my situation.

2 weeks ago my fianc!e was involved in a small accident. She was waiting to pull out at a roundabout, looked to the right, nothing coming so started to pull off, from a stand still. The lady infront of her didn't move so she accidently nudged into her at prob no more than 4mph.
Both got out of their cars, checked each other were ok, and checked the cars were ok. No damage done to either car what so ever, not even a scratch. Both agreed everything was ok, both parties were fine, swapped insurance details just in case and both agreed to be on their ways and leave it at that.

After hearing nothing of it we today received a letter from Questgates saying they have been asked by my fianc!e’s insurance company to investigate the issue and they will be coming to our home to discuss it with her. We thought this a bit odd so phoned up her insurance company who stated they have requested nothing of the kind and it's not from them that it's being investigated. It seems the other lady has put in a claim for neck pain, back pain, head aches, blackouts, whiplash and stress as a result of the horrifying accident.......
My finacee's insurance company told us to not speak to Questgates, to tell them not to come to the house and for them to deal directly through the insurance company which we have done.

Would anyone be able to help or provide any advice as to this situation as we've never heard of anything like this before so don't really know where we stand or what we should be doing?

Thanks very much in advance

Take the advice of your insurance company and refer all enquiries to them.

The third party you hit will have developed her injury some time after the time of the impact, and is entitled to make a claim, but you don't have to speak to their representative about it.
