Moving house, sky charging me

Please can anyone advise me on what to do, I have sky tv, line rental and broadband, I recently moved and I called sky 2 weeks prior to moving like there website told me and the advisor told me my phone and broadband would be on in 2 weeks from my move in date. 2 weeks later NOTHING so I phoned sky and they told me the advisor canceled my line rental and broadband and there is a £39 re connection fee!! I wasn't happy and asked why and she said this is there policy, needless to say I haven't paid it I told them I would like the policy emailed to me and this I was told was not possible so I told her I would seek advice and get back to sky. What can I do please help my husband is posted away and the internet is essential to me at the moment.

In some circumstances it can cost more to connect a line at a new property. I'd have thought it unusual that you'd be able to move home without paying some sort of connection fee (not for cancelling the "old" line but setting up the new one) - so despite their mess up, and you being without phone/broadband for a while, this is probably not a bad deal from "where you are now".

If on the other hand their incompetence here makes you seek out someone else, the only alternative for all three is Virgin Media cable, so if you can get that (put your postcode into their website and see - and if you progress an order without committing it then you can see what the setup and other fees would be) then you can evaluate which one you'd like to go with.

If the TV doesn't matter, and/or you can't get cable, then you have a choice e.g. Freeview box and choice of phone/broadband.
