    Indeed it would.

Also look at the A-Class Mercedes. we have one so the mother in law can access it easily and put her trolley in the back too..

    Honda Insight.
Hybrid; 5-door; mega-mpg, car stops using petrol when stuck in traffic; Honda reliability.
    Wife loves hers.

If the budget stretches you could look at small MPV's like Vauxhall Meriva, Ford Focus C-Max, Renault Megane Scenic, Kia Soul and the like as they would be easy for the clients to get in and out of.
Always get a Qualified opinion - My qualifications are that I am OLD and GRUMPY:p:p
  • Toyota Auris diesel. Easy to get in and out of for the not so mobile, but still looks good.

I'm still sticking with the forester, don't know where people get the idea that subaru servicing is expensive, I have always found it very reasonable both from main dealers & from private garages. In fact I find my subaru service costs less than that for my focus.

There is a reason why Subaru has a strong following within the rural communities, where reliability is an essential component in any decision. Extra height from standard hatches etc would make it easier for her elderly passengers to get in and out, no traction fears should your area get a bit of snow.

^^ another massive vote for Subarus being super reliable and cheap to run. I have just sold my legacy that cost £35 for a service every 6 months, done by me, yes a girl :rotfl:and in the 4 years i had the scooby i put on 1 set of brake pads, a brake caliper and 4 tyres. Fully comp ins was £220 and did 30mpg. I NEVER got anywhere close to getting stuck in the snow too :T sold it for 80% of what i paid in 2006 and it sold in 3 hours on Ebay as a B.I.N :money:
If you can keep your head when all around you are losing theirs, its just possible you haven't grasped the situation ;)

My biggest issue with Subarus is certain simple jobs becoming a pain in the backside due to the engine bay layout. I used to have to remove the battery and washer bottle to access the two spark plugs on the passenger side, for example. Then you have another two on the drivers side to do. Plus if you do need to do any non-trivial engine work it's probably going to be an engine out job.

I guess the non-turbo ones are more reliable, but the newer turbo ones they may as well have lined the #3 cylinder with chocolate. That's what killed my Legacy engine with only 55,000 miles on the clock and to source and fit a replacement ended up costing me 3 grand.

Annoying really as the older ones were pretty much bulletproof. I want to get one of the old EJ22 SOHC engines and shove it in my dad's VW beetle based kit car. :)
  • Another vote for the C-max-easy to get old duffers in and out.
Went shoplifting at the Disneystore today.

Got a huge Buzz out of it.
