Not sure if its called guardians allowance? Help please

Hi there. I am a single parent and Im looking to possibly move in with my partner in the next couple of months. I just wondered if anyone could tell me if the benefit he receives for looking after his nephew is counted as an income? (His sister is a drug and alcohol addict and all her children were taken into care and he looks after her middle son.)
Im not sure if this is called guardians allowance or carers allowance??
Thanks all

Guardians allowance is only payable if parent/s dead so it won't be that.
Carers allowance is only payable if child gets middle/high rate DLA.

    Would it be kinship allowance?
