Howdens developer doors

Options
I have seen some doors i like at Howdens and they do a standard and developer door variation.
Standard Core
A multi-cell core for light duty, non fire rated applications. Suitable for domestic use.

Developer Door Core
The solid core of the Developer Door provides additional strength and stability to the product. It may also reduce noise transmission and the risk of fire spread through the property (Please note this is not a tested fire-rated door).

This will be for home use but just wondered if anybody could comment on the two.
Obviously the standard would be cheaper but just wondered if the solid core would be much more heavy duty.
I have never seen their doors so know nothing about the quality only the fact that they have the style i want.

A multi-cell door has what is essentially a honeycombed piece of cardboard inside it to provide strength between panels. I've seen plenty of those doors with holes in them. They can get damaged quite easily and will feel light (ie cheap) on their hinges.

The saying 'buy cheap, pay dear' springs to mind. It's your home, I'd buy the best quality I could afford. A solid core means you can't accidentally put your foot through it or the kids won't smack the door with a toy and damage it as easily.

Having been sub contracted to a developer, I'm not aware that they use the Developer doors. There is a price differential and when you think that each new house has 8 - 10 internal doors, there is a huge saving over a development of say 100 houses. I've had hollow doors on my house for 20 years and still as good as when they went in. Yes they can get holes but only if you hit or kick them.

Provided you are not prone to random outbursts of violence, the cheaper doors may suffice.
