If you use the same flights as budgetflyer has suggested, but book the 4*Iberostar Royal Cristina(43.36 for 2 people) in Arenal with Alpharooms it would be even cheaper. Also you can get one bus from the airport amd it is only 15 minutes away. If you go to other resorts you usually have to get a bus into Palma and then another one on to your destination. Don't forget quidco as well. There is a small booking fee but i can't remember how much i paid but it still works out a bit cheaper.

Arenal is ok if you can stand having Germans everywhere you go :D

    Excellent find there Budget
    Have a nice day :)
  • I agree you do get a lot of German people in that area, but i have never had a problem with them. Why would people go on holiday to mix with their own kind, how boring would that be!
Arenal and Playa de Palma are only minutes from Palma and local transport to the rest of the island. A 4* accommodation for the price i found was an excellent deal, which is what this is about.:)

Who really won the war ? We get Magaluf they get the lovely Playa de Palma.
I really enjoyed it for an off season weekend at the HM Gran Fiesta- right on the Prom. Instead of pie n mash, it was Schnitzel und currywurst.:D
However if you do get homesick, there are a few English pubs too. But the resort really does cater mostly for the Germans.
  • Magaluf and Palma Nova are great out of season,i'm usually the youngest person there. Wouldn't go there between May and October tho'. We went to Playa de Palma when my daughter was young and i do remember it being more German than British. But for the past couple of years we have gone to the German Xmas markets in December and decided to do Mallorca instead. El corte ingles is always beautifully decked out December and January time. :)

Yes I agree- we stayed at HM Martinique in Magaluf one October. It was £100 for the week. It was great. Its meant to be a complete madhouse in July /Aug though.
