I'll have a good look round the net, me thinks
If you're anywhere in London, the Warren Evans shops have a lot of different mattresses available to try out. I bought my mattress and bed from them and I'm very satisfied.0 -

Please can you tell me how long you have had the matress and if the springs and layer of latex still feel in good condition?
I was thinking the Bellini I seen was a steal of a deal but now I'm doubting choosing Rest Assured.
Thanks
The main thing (in my opinion, that is) is to try out the mattress before you buy. Give it a good long try, and maybe come back two or three times to make sure you feel comfortable.
Personally, I wouldn't be too quick to condemn a whole company on the word of a competitor. It's true that there are a lot of posts in the MSE forums which are extremely critical of some mattress companies, but if you do the search and look closely to see who's doing the criticizing, often it's not some dissatisfied purchaser but someone who is selling mattresses themselves. A bit like Tesco telling you to never ever ever shop at Sainsburys. :rotfl:

Warren Evans do have shops dotted all over the country, but they are very over priced.0 -

I agree, especially if the shop will let you sleep on the bed over night, as that's the only way to tell what it's like to sleep on.ihatecaptcha wrote: »Personally, I wouldn't be too quick to condemn a whole company on the word of a competitor. It's true that there are a lot of posts in the MSE forums which are extremely critical of some mattress companies, but if you do the search and look closely to see who's doing the criticizing, often it's not some dissatisfied purchaser but someone who is selling mattresses themselves. Actually most of the people who have criticised them are people who have owned them.
As for me being a competitor....I'm not. I don't manufacture beds, I sell them. I could sell any brand I want, but I refuse to sell poor quality products (especially any member of the Silentnight group). Although if I did then I would sell large numbers just due to the power of their advertising. But I couldn't bring myself to rip people off by selling them rubbish.
So it's not like Tesco telling you not to sell at Sainsburys, because they both sell Heinz baked beans, and they both sell Kellogs corn flakes.0 -

Do they? The website only seems to mention London showrooms. Greater London, that is -- Bromley, Camden, Clapham, Hammersmith, Kingston. Those are all places within Greater London.
Personally, I don't feel I paid too much for the mattress. I'm very satisfied with it. Can't remember exactly how much I paid for it but I see it's on sale at the moment for £275. Bargain, as far as I'm concerned, but it all depends what the OP wants in a mattress, and how much they want to pay.0 -

Well I may be wrong, but I'm sure people have mentioned them in other large towns. I haven't checked it out personally.
I presume you bought the Luxury Coil mattress then? Even at £275 for a double, it is way above what you should be paying for an open coil sprung mattress.
When you said you had an Outlast cover, I thought you meant that you had a memory foam mattress. Climate control fabrics shouldn't really be much benefit with ordinary open coil sprung mattresses with cotton ticking, except maybe in the hottest and most humid weather (shame we didn't get much this year).0 -

That's the way it goes. What suits one person might not suit another.0 -

That is very true.0 -
Tim, I am also looking at matresses and am quite interested in Millbrook - how would you rate them ?
Are there any other manufacturers (outside the Silentnight group) whom you would recommend for doing decent matresses ?
