Rest Assured Bellini mattress - Any Good?

Evening
I'm looking to buy a new mattress for a new leather bedstead and wondered if a Rest Assured Bellini is a decent mattress to buy?
I tested it at a local shop at the weekend and it seemed perfect, nice and firm but still really comy.
The price at the local shop was over £600 but after looking online I can get this for £390. Does this seem a good price for this level of mattress?
It has 2000 pockets and Innergetic latex. I was told the latex would be cooler than memory foam which seems to cause alot of heat.
I know this isn't over dear for a matress but being a first time house buyer my limit is about £400.
Thanks for any help and advice

I have a Rest Assured Rossini with 1000 pocket springs and latex and I find it perfect, very comfortable and not hot and sweaty like the previous memory foam mattress I had.

There are a number of reasons not to buy this mattress:
- It is Rest Assured who are part of the Silentnight group . You should do a seach in the MSE forums for them before you even consider them.
- The mattress contains 2000 pocket springs. More than 800 pocket springs is enough to do what pocket springs are designed to do. If a mattress has too many springs, then to fit them all into the mattress, and keep the same firmness, they have to be very small and weak. Which means that they can get damaged easily. So I usually recommend between 1000 and 1800.
- Innergetic latex is not natural latex, it is a blend. And it won't have the same temperature and support properties as natural latex. It also seems to be normal practice throughout the Silentnight group to only use a very thin layer of latex. And in many cases (although maybe not with this one), it is only in zones on the mattress rather than the whole sleeping surface.
- The mattress is non turn, which means that it won't last anywhere near as long as a two sided mattress.

Thanks for the info
Wow . . . 2 people with totally opposite advice/info
Hmmm, what makes big brands bad for lower budget matresses?
I haven't looked at the Rossini but I will check out tonight, the advice on 1000 springs being stronger does sound very logical.
I only have a £400 budget, what would people suggest?
I was swaying towards the Bellini as I tested this one at the local shop and it felt spot on.

Hi emmell
Please can you tell me how long you have had the matress and if the springs and layer of latex still feel in good condition?
I was thinking the Bellini I seen was a steal of a deal but now I'm doubting choosing Rest Assured.

My advice is not technical, it's from experience of owning and sleeping on one every night. I responded because you asked for views on the Rest Assured, the latex may be synthetic but it certainly feels more comfortable to the previous memory foam mattress that I got rid of, and I don't get overheated with this one.
The only other mattresses I can comment on are, Millbrook pocket spring, very comfortable (the mattress I had previous to the memory foam)and a Harrison bed in our spare room that seems to rise in the middle and the only time I slept on it I rolled off in the night.
Bye the way, my Rest Assured mattress is on the original Millbrook sprung edge base.

Sorry, we got crossed posts there. I've had the mattress about 18 months now and it's very comfortable, I try to rotate it regulary but if my husbands not around I leave it because it's very heavy so it probably doesn't get rotated as often as recommended.

As emmell says, they are commenting on the comfort of a mattress that they have used for 18 months, which they find very comfortable compared to their old mattress.
However I am commenting from a technical point of view, and comparing it to many other equivalent mattresses on the market. In my experience I have found that the main problem with Silentnight group mattresses isn't comfort when relatively new. But the problem is long term reliability. Obviously I hope that emmell doesn't suffer from the same reliability problems that many others have.0 -
Thanks again both of you for the info.
Tim, please can you list the equivalent mattresses on the market that compare to the Bellini/Rossini?
I haven't got a clue so I can't even start to make a list.
(hopefully listing comparable mattresses isn't against forum rules)

As I am in the trade I can't list comparable products, as it could be viewed as advertising. However I would stay well away from the big manufacturers and big retailers if you want good quality and spec for a low price. Make sure the mattress contains full size steel pocket springs rather than reflex foam encapsulated ones. Make sure it contains natural latex, rather synthetic or a blend. And make sure that the latex covers the whole sleeping surface (not just zones), and that it is at least 2" deep. Also the other thing (that isn't as easy to find), try and make sure the mattress is two sided so that it can be turned, annd will last far longer.0 -
Cheers Tim
This is gonna be harder than I first thought.
Hmmm, the problem now is trying to find these type of mattress's near by so i can test them out etc.
I'll have a good look round the net, me thinks0
