different person going to hotel

I've got flights to alicante booked for 8 of us 1st weekend dec, booked with easyjet
ive got 3 rooms booked at the sol pelicanos, booked with travelrepublic.
Now one of the girls is in hospital, with heart problems and won't be able to come.
So another friend is thinking of coming, i could just do a name change on the flight which would cost £64
2x£25
1x £15 diference in price.
Now the hotel, do i need to tell travelrepublic that my friend wouldn't be going, or could my friend who wants to come, just turn up in her place.
thanks for looking.

Read the small print, the rooms may be through different suppliers and their terms may apply, look at the bottom of the voucher for the room to see who the supplier is for that room and then read their terms.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Be warned, they might well ask for passport on checking in, if you fancy just not saying anything and seeing if you can wing it. (FWIW, I NEVER leave my passport with reception - if they want a copy for their records, I let them take one, but stand there and wait while they do it, but that's a whole other topic!!)Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!0

My friend who can't come, has said she doesn't have a problem with us taking her passport and handing it in to the hotel.
We go every year and it's always me who just goes to reception and hands in all 8 passports for the 3 rooms, the girls then sit on the sofas, and wait, 3 of us sign for the rooms.
Would this work, i know it's wrong, but we have paid for the room, so we are not trying to get something for nothing.0 -
Wait until the local registration officials do a spot check and the replacement has nowhere to stay and is charged with impersonation.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

booked through travelrepublic
and holiday brokers are the suppliers.0 -
I'd ring the hotel direct and just tell them about the girl who's ill and give them the name of the other girl, 9 times out of 10 they'll make a note of it and not charge anything. I did that for my friends stag night in dublin no problem at all.0

The hotel get paid through holiday brokers, so it all depends on their terms.
There might be a link on the confirmation to their terms and conditions.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
travelrepublic want £20 for the name change
plus £45 for the person to be added on.
We paid less than £45 for our 3 nights there.
I may try and do that with the hotel.
