Cheap mailing bags/boxes?

I have quite the vast collection of bubble mailers and boxes. Unfortunately, I think I've gone through the last of the ones big enough to take a text book (which is what I'm currently selling at a rate of knots).

Short of going mad and buying a lot of things mail order, which would be great fun but goes completely against my new spending habits, how can I keep the costs as low as possible for myself and my buyers?

On the textbooks I'm charging £5 postage (they cost just over £4.50 to send 1st Class) so I could potentially buy some large bubble mailers and I'm going to do that for two of the three I need to post tonight. The other I managed to pack in a relatively flat box with my last few foam peanuts!

Do you think it would be worth asking on Freecycle?

I get all my bubble and cardboard from the Supermarket. Bubble wrap from the fruit n veg aisle. Strongest carboard is from the booze isle and then cut to fit.

I quite often see people offering used packaging on my local Freecycle, so definitely worth a go.

Also poundland have a good selection of jiffy-type bags in various sizes.
