in Credit cards
I have two CC's; one with a balance of just under £2k and the other with a balance of just under £4k. I am paying interest on both and would like to do a balance transfer. I applied last July and got declined.
I am wondering if there is any way to sort this? My credit score is bordering between fair and good and it says I have £5k of available credit. I dont want to waste applications either. I would like to consolidate the debt and also require an extra £1k to move home urgently.
Ant advice / recommendations?
Thanks

What are the credit limits on the 2 cards? what other debts do you have?
Whats the APR on the cards?
Who did you apply to in July 09?
Are you employed? how much do you earn?

What are the credit limits on the 2 cards? I havent got the paperwork to hand but I have about £500 to hand on each card
What other debts do you have? Only two credit cards, I cleared my overdraft in August
Whats the APR on the cards? Again not too sure but I reckon about 20% plus!
Who did you apply to in July 09? It was July 2010 and Sainsburys
Are you employed? how much do you earn? Employed currently on SMP
Do you have any late payments? defaults? No0 -

Your level of debt is relatively low compare to income, so if you have not defaulted on any account, have not had any late/missed payment within the last 36 months and that the number of applications you've made is low then you should not have any problems getting a card with a 0% offer. Why don't you try Barclaycard pre-application check, it will tell you if you are eligible for any of their cards, otherwise you could try the Creation credit card from Sygma which offer 0% for 15 months on balance transfer. But remember that you'll need a card with at least £7500 to transfer the all lot, which might not be easy as it seems, as a potential lender will see that you already are £6 in debt+ any potential credit still available and that you want to add more debt0
