Yahoo! couldn't care less about its Mail users

Hi all,
I logged on two weekes ago to find that Yahoo! have put ALL my 3000+ filed email addresses into one huge 'unfiled' mass. As you can imagine, many people rely on categories in order to use Yahoo mail effectively, if at all. After contacted them through their 'help' section and getting no replies, in spite of their assurances that 'we'll get back to you within 24 hours' I am at my wits' end. I can appreciate that having ones contacts merged is not the end of the world, but it does impede my work greatly and has caused a lot of unnecessary stress.
Does anyone have a contact number for Yahoo Mail, or for anyone higher up in Yahoo?
Many thanks.

Apparently there are lots of upgrades going on. I know that a lot of people are getting error messages in German when using yahoo groups.0

I didn't want to sound like a complete moaner and groaner by putting in all the additional problems I'm having with Yahoo! of late, but that explains why every time I try to send something, it won't send until I copy and paste it into a new email. I wouldn't mind so much if they just got back to let us know what's happening.0

I am surprised you used Yahoo for work. You end up being bombarded with spam and rubbish emails. Why not get your own domain name and set up your own account? Also if it is for business a yahoo email address just looks kind of unprofessional and amateurish.0

I only Use Yahoo for the local freegle group as it is down so often I couldn't risk it for anything more important.
I was also getting the German messages and today I can get on, see my inbox but not access it at all. It has been several weeks now since it worked properly for me.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I agree mzmegs, although I think that much of the time, recipients get too many emails to worry about what type of email they are coming from. It's the content, more than the email address, that's important - just as holding a degree is (usually) seen as more important than which insititution it's come. But I appreciate what you're saying.
I opted for Yahoo! years ago, before the idea of looking professional even crossed my mind. Since then, I could have set up an account in Outlook and synched it with a domain name, but I like to check my emails whilst on the move. Also, I have an Outlook account for personal emails and I've never been quite sure whether you can have another on one computer. I'm not very technically minded!0 -
Unless you are paying for Yahoo Mail Plus you can't really complain about the lack of support. It is a free service after all.0

Yes, free for the user. But we 'free' users are of great benefit to Yahoo! No free Mail users would mean very little advertising revenue, and that would spell disaster for the company. So yes, it might be free, but we are no less useful to Yahoo! and therefore deserve to at least have accounts which are not going to be messed around with internally without any advance notification.0 -

No, the institution is crucial and employers who recruit graduates will usually prefer to not recruit from universities who have low entry criteria, low retention rates and low academic standards. In practice, this means that only the Russell Group of universities, roughly the top 20, are targeted by employers. This has been the case for twenty years to my certain knowledge and probably much longer.
A degree from Durham University is not the same as a degree from Wolverhampton University.
It's not academic snobbery, the criteria are assessed externally and the results are published annually and are in the public domain.
Similarly, yahoo, hotmail and gmail addresses are usually regarded as fine for personal email but unprofessional for business addresses.
It's not expensive to obtain a 'co.uk' address.0
