Mobile Tyre fitting in Bath

Hi all

The two rear tyres on my car are both flat, they're pretty old so I suspect the sidewalls have given up the ghost. Hence, I'm after two new tyres.

This introduces the problem of getting to a garage, as neither will hold enough air for a safe drive and I've only the one spare wheel!

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good mobile fitter in the Bath area? I'm after budget tyres, as we use the car only for supermarket trips etc so wear not really a problem.

The car, should this be important, is a Citroen Xsara Picasso, tyres 185/65R15, rated 88H.

Many thanks

Not a bad price, £51 for their budget which seems to be comparable with local garages (kwikfit quote £35 for their cheapest but it's all the fitting etc that brings it up).

Any idea if the service is good (most importantly, they generally turn up at the arranged time)?

I've used etyres a number of times.

Always turn up on time. But I am not in Bath. Your local guy may be different of course.

I have also used Event Tyres. Similar experience.

I've only used the ones for York. They don't have their own fitters, they contract out to local garages. But I've had good service each time I've used them, although it's mostly "all day" appointments.

Last time they were out they couldn't get the locking wheel nuts off the car - not their fault, tightened way too much at the factory) he tried for a good half hour to get it off then admitted defeat but came back the next day with a special tool to get it sorted - when he could have just said that my tyre can't be fitted bye bye!

As they use guys who do nothing but fit tyres all day it's not like going to Kwit Fit where they always !!!!! and moan at you that they are far too busy and treat you like a massive inconvenience!
  • Great, thanks Mark!

I've ordered a set of 'mid-range - brands may vary' as they were only £2 more expensive per tyre than the budget. Works out about the same as local fitters wanted for their cheapest tyres, I suspect that they'll use whatever they've a job lot of in the local warehouse but I'm hoping they'll be decent.

Yeah, it's the standard marketing practice of having a really expensive model that few people buy, and a really cheap one which nobody buys, then you have the middle one which you expect people to buy! When of course in reality there's very little difference between them.
