Lloyds Action Now - is it genuine?

I have today received a letter from Lloyds Action Now asking me to sign up for a joint action against the directors and HM Treasury for compensation for being misled about the takeover of HBOS.
The cost of joining is a basic fee of £293.75 plus 3 pence per share held, so that anyone with 5,000 shares would pay a total of £440.63 inc VAT.
There are a couple of small grammatical errors in the letter, and the notice for meetings being held is very short - in fact the first one in Edinburgh is today.
Does anyone know anything about this action group?

No reliance should be placed on the above.

I will wait for the shares to raise in value again before spending more money.
This could take years and years to go through the courts and who is to say that they won't run out of money before concluding the case?0 -
lloyds are getting rid of the odd thousand it people.
letting staff move on to a better company / sacking them often helps with the share price.0
