Counting number of rooms for home insurance quotes

Can anybody help? When looking for quotes for home insurance and they ask you for the number of rooms in your property excluding kitchen and bathroom, do you include cellar rooms as number of rooms? I have a 2 chambered cellar, but only use them for storing stuff and the washing machine. Also, I have a living room knocked through to dining room. Does that count as one or two rooms?

It is only used to roughly work out the cover you might need. i.e. the more rooms you have, then the more room to store things. Just go by what the Insurers advise i.e. all rooms except kitchen and bathroom, so include the cellars and count the living/dining room as one.The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0
