Oh and do you think the 3 year or 5 year option is best? I dont think I plan on being in tesco for a further 5 years? :S0

I've done 5 year plan to take full advantage (use the full £250), hope I'm able to afford to always pay in and will stick with Tesco long enough. Hope to move on from Tesco but keep on enough hours to keep this going the lump sum each year will be worth it in the end. Also just noticed you no longer get the tax free bonus on 3 year plans only 5. I think I'm right in thinking this has changed? So 5 year is the best option.
I applied online on Friday when mine came in it all seemed to go OK but haven't had an email to confirm. Sorry can't help much more only to suggest you check you are applying for SAYE not BAYE as I clicked on the wrong one initially.:j Trytryagain FLYLADY - SAYE £700 each month Premium Bonds £713 Mortgage Was £100,000@20/6/08 now zilch 21/4/15:beer: WTL - 52 (I'll do it 4 MUM)0 -
Yeah, I think I'll just call them, can I do 5-year then? Even if I odnt work there for 5 more years, will the money jsut become available at the end? I do BAYE too, but dont knwo why it's not letting me do this...stupid thing.0

If you leave before the 5 year is up you will just get back what you have put in when you leave you can't keep it going. So if you don't intend to stay 5 years but do intend to stay at Tesco 3 years then do the 3 year instead. You will only gain on this though if the share price goes up. You may only get your money back at the end of the term if the share price is low as there is no bonus.:j Trytryagain FLYLADY - SAYE £700 each month Premium Bonds £713 Mortgage Was £100,000@20/6/08 now zilch 21/4/15:beer: WTL - 52 (I'll do it 4 MUM)0

So weird, I did it via text message and it worked *sigh* lol. Ah well, I guess it's all good in the end, opted for 5 year £50 per month. I should be okay, I mean even if I do get out of tesco into a "real" job, my sundays will cover £50 WOOP
House deposit here I come

I think I will try and stay for the 5 years, my initial plan was to just keep my sunday shifts when I finish uni, so work my 9-5 week and work Sundays at Tesco, just until I save enough for my house deposit. So far I have (through SIP and BAYE) £1650 which I know isn't amazing, but I think it's a good start.

Sounds like a plan. It's good to keep Tesco going along side another job if you can for the staff discount too. Anything that can keep your costs down is worth hanging on too. Good Luck with the house deposit. I'm planning to help my eldest son with Uni expenses with mine. he will be 18 when the first one pays out and hopefully will have one a year from then on. He may not be able to afford Uni though with all the new changes. He will get no help from Government. I will also lose £200 month child benefit so hope I will still be able to do the SAYE. Hoping to but I will need to increase my income significantly in the next couple of years. Will be hoping son can get a job too at 16 and save towards Uni himself.:j Trytryagain FLYLADY - SAYE £700 each month Premium Bonds £713 Mortgage Was £100,000@20/6/08 now zilch 21/4/15:beer: WTL - 52 (I'll do it 4 MUM)0 -

Wow that sucks, hopefully the SAYE will help you quite a bit? I'm so glad I'm finishing uni now though0
