PC died and fixed.

Desktop PC died last night, but all OK today. Nearly time for a new upgrade.... Checked everything over last night before going out. This morning, reseated CPU and booted up. Took the trouble to clean CPU contacts, renew contact paste and clean out heat sink (not to bad). Now back on-line for all you lucky folks.

hummm, Personally I don't tend to go for reseating the CPU as one of my first troubleshooting ports of call but if it worked for you well done :)

Hopefully it'll be much happier with its newly dust free heatsink now too.
