Hi!
Need some advice from you fab OS experts please:
Just seen the 20% off cookware code on Amazon and wondered if a 29cm oval casserole was:
1. bargain at £80 with the code?
2. big enough to roast a chicken for 6/8 people? or should I be looking at a bigger size?
Also am not sure whether I should go for a coloured one or a black or white one as they go with anything?
TIA

I have that one and find it perect for my family of 4 - never used it to raost a chicken but I think you coudl squeeze a medium sized one in.
Were is the amazon code - I'd love the low 'buffet' dish...People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

sorry have forgotten how to do the clever link thing!
Is for selected cookware but I just put it in and went to checkout to see if was applied for the casserole. Haven't completed checkout yet as is a lot of money for a pot - saw a set of circulon pans and am in dilemma as to whether to buy some decent pans now or wait until have sorted kitchen design.....0 -
You can get this cheaper at TKMaxx/Homesense atm
They only have a small selection online and tons more in the actual stores, but this one is 28cm and £9.99.

The one in the TK maxx link is not the cast iron one - it's the pottery one which is always much cheaper.0

I have Circulon pans and can't recommend them highly enough. They are as good now as when they were new about seven years ago, and they've had some very heavy use. They are easy to clean and nothing sticks to them - the frying pan is particularly good.
That's not to say you shouldn't also have some Le Creuset, of course0 -

Hi Muffins  I have the big oval casserole - isn't 29cm the biggest they make? I always buy the biggest chook I can find (more meat to bone), and have never found one that didn;t fit it
You could always cut off the legs and wings and cook them separately, if you're cooing a huuuuuuge chicken.
My Le Creuset are red. I have a green cast iron Rayburn, and they match that. I've just bought a black Le Creuset stove top kettle though.:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
Have decided on the Le Creuset 29cm oval casserole and the buffet as the 20% off amazon price seems good :money: and just read on HUK that the circulon pans have been £65 in BHS recently so will hope for another similar deal.
just can't decide on a colour they are all fab! Bet by the time I make a decision, they'll be oos!
Has anyone got the white or almond ones? Do they discolour or stain on the outside please? Or are they simple to maintain?

I can second that on Circulon pans - they're amazing! Got ours in the Debenhams sale last year for £80 (reduced from £200). Never had such good pans before, and they use them on Masterchef too!!!!!!! :T0 -
Be warned, Le Creuset is HEAVY. I have a whole set of pots, casserole dishes, stove top kettle, baking dishes and skillets. Most of it I bought second hand or scrounged when we moved to this house because it had a Rayburn. Fine pots etc to use but extremely hard on the back. Rayburn is gone now (it was a very old gas one and basically was dangerous) and I have a built in gas oven and hob...and stainless steel or non-stick pots and pans. The difference in use is amazing and my wrists and back are thanking me for it. The Le Creuset meanwhile is gathering dust on the floor of the larder.Val.0
