In part the rise might be explained by the fact lenders want 25%+ deposits in order to qualify for thier much lower rate tiers.
I know I find myself saying you'll need 25% if you want a low rate and interest only which most people seem to prefer (before you say it - yes yes, they are quite happy to repay lump sums on int only rather than be at the mercy of a lenders standard captial repayment logarithm where interest is front loaded).0 -
