House sellers' move to raise asking prices is 'illogical', says Rightmove

Basically its the 'buy my house for X.... and if you cant afford it... then keep renting'. attitude.
Where only the rubbish homes will be put on market. I bought my house for almost same my vendor payed for it 6 years before. There was no way she was going to go any lower than that because in her head she was 'losing' something, she had two homes, didnt need to sell them as she could've easily rented the thing out (good area)...
Basically people will take homes off market and maybe start renting them out again... or as per last mini-crash people will wait it out for a couple of years at least.
Good post. My thoughts exactly. No need to sell cheap.
So all that garbage the bears have been posting for the last few weeks is not even worth thinking about. Last month house prices supposedly went down 3% and this month up 3%.
I said at the time it wasn't worth worrying about. Up and down 1% until Xmas. Yawn.
Are there any bargains? No.0 -
The abundance of houses for sale is mainly a consequence of HIPS being binned - people are putting 'for sale' signs up on 'spec' and often on houses that are perhaps not the best quality - as a result buyers have backed off and now, seemingly, so have the sellers. All I mainly see nowadays are skips and building work as it just doesn't pay to move unless you have to. As regards the lack of FTB's I don't see that as much a major problem as long as parents/grandparents continue to dig deep for deposits to help out (merely speeding up inheritance?). A couple of years sideways movement won't do any harm anyways...0

I think it's funny how the bears go into frenzy mode when any drop news occurs. The bears just give it the cool one when prices rise.
One side have dough in their pockets. That's the reason why.:)We love Sarah O Grady0 -

Who would you suggest is doing the monopolising?
What would the remit of such an investigation be?0 -

Speaking personally, I'll have a lot less cash once I do buy a house!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Why?
You're a bird. Just get hold of some geezer who's either got a house or get up the duff and let him pay the mortgage.:rotfl:

Done that, already. Got hold of "geezer" and the result of being "up the duff" has just turned 5 and started primary school.
But I earn nearly as much as said "geezer" anyway.
With charm like that, no wonder you couldn't pull in the UK........much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

I'm poleaxed
I thought you was single. I was going to have a crack at pulling you.
Oh well. It's your loss. There thousands of birds who fancy me out here.

I think it's fairly safe to say that when your wallet's empty none of them will want to have anything to do with a ponce like you.
I left the UK because of people like you.
I know your type. Old and past your sell buy date. You can't get a partner, live in a bedsit and work in a factory making christmas crackers.
You see some bloke like me walking about with a sexy Thai girl and say junk like ' He has to pay her, bet he couldn't get a decent bird like me' :rotfl:
I won't have an empty wallet while people like you are paying my mortgage off either. :beer:We love Sarah O Grady0
