Sorry i am not very up on the Renting terms at all. My daughter and her partner have rented a property for 6 mths due to renew 5th Jan.
Three weeks after they moved in they found out that where they were living was last used by a drug dealer, she got kicked out of that flat and moved into the flat two floors up.
Last night they had their windows put through ,(on another thread)
The thing is this was never mentioned to them that there was a problem with a previous tenant or that there was know problem with the whole block. Should they have been told that there was problem or just that just apply to people buying properties? It is also an address known by the police, as they found out when they reported the dealing going on outside their flat.
Thank youx

there is no duty on a landlord to tell a tenant that there are difficult neighbours0

Tenants , like buyers, should take the time to check out the locality for themselves at different times of day, before signing up to a property, including talking to neighbours if possible, and having a chat with the local community police officer. Type the property address into Google and see what local news reports come up, if any.0

A breach of contract is when one party does what the contract says they won't do, or doesn't do something that the contract says they will do. Unless the contract says that the LL will provide information on disputes with the neighbours, there is no breach of contract.0

I suggest that your daughter and her partner find another, decent place, give notice and then leave in January0
