Hey,
This is a bit of a random question but I don't know where to find the answer out. Just wondering... does anyone know if it's legally possible to purchase british paper shares but for my friend in america for his birthday. Basically he loves Burberry (i dont know why) but I want to give him some paper shares but is this possible as it's transfering money technically i suppose?
Thanks,
Matt

It should be possible - shares in Burberry PLC currently cost 513.50p.
As you want a paper certificate, its probably simplest to talk to your bank and buy shares in the company. If they refuse to buy them in someone elses name for you - once you get the share certificate, contact the share registrar and get the name of the owner changed (you will probably have to pay a small a small fee and fill in a form)
