After having huge trouble getting a plumber where I live to give me a quote (is everyone in east anglia changing their bathrooms at the moment?) I am not sure if the quite I have been given is fair. My cold water pressure is fine but from the hot is not amazing so I thought I could get away with an electic shower but the plumber wants to do a power shower and I felt I was getting a hard sell.
So this is the quote: to disconnect my old shower, supply and fit single pillar bath taps, supply and install a salamander 1.5 shower pump and run the pipework to the bathroom, supply and install thermostatic shower with riser rail kit, wire shower pump into new fuse spur.
Including all labour and materials and VAT it comes to £750.
Is this about right? It just seems to be very expensive to get a standard shower put in.
Thank you in advance everyone for your help (and be gentle on me - it's my first post!)

an electric shower with a decent CW pressure would be a lot cheaper.Get some gorm.0

Hot water pressure won't matter for elec shower, as these work off Cold only - but will need a suitable electric supply, which will mean unless your plumber is a qualified electrician, you'll need two trades.
What kind of shower do you have at the moment?0 -

Thank you all for the replies - The electrics are already in and safe from the previous shower (I had an electrician check the safety when I had some lights installed). The original plumber I had who couldn't do the job due to illness felt an electric pump would be enough but I was given the hard sell by this plumber for a power shower with a very complicated new route from airing cupboard to shower which is what I think has made me feel a bit uneasy with the quote.
I have managed to find another plumber via a friend's recommendation to come and look tomorrow so will be able to compare quotes and decide.
Thanks again for the help.0
