I have seen these lights cheaper in B&Q as well, get 4 and you have complete lighting rig:T:T:T
Plenty of excellent advice. Even better take your pics out of doors and don't even bother to buy lights. Colours potentially more easily accurate as well.
Ahh but you will still get shadows from the sun;)
Granted these are generally negated by the black velvet backround, but this time of year standing outside in the cold and rain is not the best way to spend a day:rotfl:
If your feeling really extravagant you could buy daylight balanced bulbs for your lights:)
Thanks for all the thanks, and sorry if I've put any photographers noses out of jointThe OP seems to need a lot of this type of photography and knowing what some of my fellow professionals can charge for this type of thing it is more MSE to DIY
I am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:0 -
Hey Glassact, you are seriously getting into MSE now!!!
Crafts Council of Ireland, Craft NI and Co Down Crafts (Craft & Design Collective) have all offered subsidised photography in the past - if you phone Orla or Emma at Craft NI they might know what schemes are running at the minute.
We had professional photography taken in the past by Mike Bunn, but I think he is based in Leitrim, he used this amazing light box to get rid of the glare from my glaze - this was done FREE through one of the craft programmes years ago. Pip Sides has also taken product shots for me in the past, though he is in Dublin at the minute - he is studying Theology at Trinity and could probably use the money! or another girl Gail McGowan did some but she was v expensive.
Good luck with it anyway - are you at Banbridge on Sat?DJWW - cos we won't let it!0 -

True, but the sun and shadows can bring jewellery to life. Or you can take pics in the shade! Even indoors by a window - though a tripod likely to be necessary with longer exposures.
Good to have a pro first time - pic his brains
Good luck.0 -
