Which? is reporting that the green ConDems are likely to assign the (41.3p) feed in tariffs to the bin (not sure which bin - I have so many).

The Government announced there would be no retrospective payment of FIT, for those who fitted solar PV before July last year, a few weeks ago.
If the FIT of 41.3p is cut, I doubt if it will apply to existing installations - although it was in other countries in Europe.
However personally I think it will be excellent news if they do reduce this silly subsidy(that we all pay for) that is being abused by all these commercial firms that have discovered a loophole in the regulations.0 -
This is good news, I don't see why my energy costs should be subsidising middle class ecobling. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

The reason I heard they were going to do this is because the commercial companies setting up saying they will install on your roof for free as long as they get the feed in tariffs. The logic is that if commercial companies can do this then the FIT is set too high.0

There was a reply that mentioned eco-bling but it has disappeared. Such an excellent term - I'd never heard of it.

Still there - see post# 30 -
From the BBCThe scheme was only launched in April, with cross party support, but the government has now confirmed it will be subject to the Spending Review, with a view on its impact on bills.
With projects already underway, this has sparked fury in the industry.
"If they touch the feed-in tariff, you can forget about private sector funding for renewables," says Ray Noble from the Renewable Energy Association.0 -
Probably heard same interview on R4, seems some farmers are ditching cows and going for FIT solar panels, pays more, with far less troubles of mucking out, feeding, milking etc so they saidEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

They cannot ConDem the Common Agricultural Policy - which is no longer common and is about subsidising land owners not agricultural production these days - as Brussels administers the CAP gravy train on behalf of the "winners" (Ireland, France etc.)0
