Cheap Calls to Canada with Telewest?

Hello Everyone,

We have just had a telewest line connected in our new flat and have a friend in Canada who we would like to call.

I understand that there are various different dialling options (cheapest calls, telesaver etc) but that a lot of people have had problems with being overcharged by telewest when using these.

Please can people recommend from experience one of these companies to use, which they have successfully used on telewest and not being overcharged for? I simply cannot afford to get overcharged up to £183 like someone on here did.

Incidently, do telewest provide a .pdf of all the various charges for the various 0844 prefixes?

Any help/advice anyone can offer would be much appreciated. Thanks. Chris.

The billing problem only occurred on a certain numbering range and has now been resolved by the various networks that were overcharging,it was not just a Telewest problem.

The problem with 0844 dial through numbers is that you start paying as soon as you hit announcement even if you dont get through.

Suggest you subscribe to http://www.18185.co.uk/mobilerates.php and use their 0800 access number.4p connection instead of TW 6p and calls only 0.5p a minute to Canada Landlines.You dont pay if your not connected.(Plus your benefit from their cheaper peak geographical,Mobile,and NGN rates).
