Think I feel a letter to my councillor coming on -for the first time!

I live on a quiet residential road with two cul-de-sacs on one side - so more odd numbers than even. However these houses were built about 40 years ago - not a new estate.

So what did I open my curtains to this morning?

Council workmen installing street name signs showing which numbers are in the cul-de-sac.

We are in the middle of massive council cutbacks and they are spending money on this. Why?????:mad::mad::mad::mad:

On a similar vein, I got very cross yesterday. I got a letter from the NHS about DS2's vaccinations which was a complete waste of time, paper, resources and money. It was pre printed with "an appointment has been made for you at..." and then printed next to it, it said "phone surgery for appointment". What is the point of that? How effing ridiculous. I don't usually have any complaints with the NHS (apart from my useless GP surgery) and rely on them heavily but it annoys me to the point of anger when they waste money on things like this while paying nurses a pittance. Blah. [/rant]
