Hi Ruth, yes I looked it up on the CLas Ohlsen site and they are lovely arent they in all those funky colours. So it worked OK in the USA? I have read some kettles take an age to boil because the voltage is not right. Did you use anything other than a standard travel adapter plug? Mnay thanksMember of the HCSC0

I bought turquoise so I wouldn't forget to pack it! It took a bit longer than a normal kettle to boil, but it wasn't too bad at all. The voltage switch is on the bottom of the kettle. Don't forget to change it back when you come home again if you're likely to be using it in the UK. Just used a travel adapter to change the plug to fit the socket in the US.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

I've just had a look for this kettle as it seemed to be just what I was looking for, but there is a recall notice issued on it!0

I spent an awful long time researching this subject for a visit to the USA and finally bought a Kenwood JK060 Discovery Duo Travel Jug Kettle 650. It cost me £14.99 from Amazon and the reason I bought this one was because it had an actual switch to change from 240v to 110v. It was excellent. It took approximately 4 minutes to boil a full kettle in the States so together with the 2 cups and the spoon which were included it was the perfect travel kettle.0

You can use a UK 240V kettle in America. It'll work fine on 120V but will take twice as long to boil.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0
