I wanna buy a travel kettle to use in the USA

I'm looking for a travel kettle to take with me to Vegas next month. Don't fancy spending my hard earned cash on Starbucks every day, so thought I could take a travel kettle along and make (black) coffee in room. Any suggestions for a decent make? Or places I might not have thought to look? Thanks in advance for any replies!

Are you sure your hotel doesn't have a coffee maker in the room? Most do! You can get refills if you catch the maid & ask nicely. Ground coffee normally. You'll rarely find a kettle.
Why Starbucks? Places like Dennys etc. have GREAT coffee, free unlimited refills too. Many covenience stores do 32oz (2 american pints) from 99c. Coffee addicts paradise!

If you frequent the casinos - you can get free coffee or drinks.
  • I can agree with previous post. EVERY hotel room I've stayed in in USA (I've been a lucky boy and have stayed in many on both the West and East, including Vegas) has had a coffee maker (filter type with glass jug). I take a travel kettle and tea with me because I don't drink coffee and trying to make tea in the coffee makers is not nice at all. I've even known of some rooms having coffee makers with a grinder built in with bags of beans so the coffee is extra fresh, and far from posh hotels too.

My kettle is a cheap one from Lidl, they had one in the weekly deals and it comes up every so often.

Vegas is gonna be dirt cheap for coffee when you are out too. Just don't gamble too much.

Thanks for replying. It was mainly to make a coffee when we first wake up, to kick start the day. I have no problem with Starbucks coffee, but it isn't cheap! We're staying at the MGM Grand and I know last time we stayed there were no coffee making facilities in the room. I'll give them a call tomorrow and ask them. Would just be nice to roll out of bed and make a coffee without having to get dressed and go downstairs to main food bit.

You should get an adapter for your kettle. You will also need one if you want to charge your digital camera or mobile phone.
    Born to shop;)

Got adapters! And there's no way I'm having my phone on holiday. Defeats the whole point of having a holiday if you ask me.
My camera takes AA batteries and my Dad bought me this great little USB charger. It's tiny and can just plug into the netbook to charge as I'm watching a film or something.

There is a CVS store right accross the road from MGM Grand, next to Monte Carlo, this sells everything like that. Very few vegas hotels have coffee makers, Flamingo GO room did have, only one I no of though
